Jorja is LOVING school and is thriving very much so there, she was very excited to bring home her first prize for filling her sticker chart up. She loves going on the bus to and from school as well and has taken to it rather well.

Time for a catch up!

Well another year has ended and new one has begun, Jorja is all excited to be starting School this year and is quite happy that she has her new uniform and backpack. We have managed to accomplish reading one of her 12 pre-reader books, we have promised a treat when she can read all 12 books competently hopefully that buys us time to decide what that treat will be. The horse riding has come to a stand still at the moment with all the rain and they seem to be a bit fresh so we are leaving them for now. Jorja has a new found love and that is swimming, it is scary for me as she seems over confident however the lessons will continue and I will be keeping a vigilant eye on her as she has discovered the dams are fun to swim in. For Christmas she got a pair of roller-blades and has been bugging me to take her to the skate park for her to try them out some more. Dancing was a success last year and she has begged me to let her do acrobats this year as well has her Jazz/Tap/Modern combined class, the concert was a huge hit and she LOVED all the attention from the audience.

Wow such a while has gone by since this was filled in. Jorja is now enrolled for Prep at Gin Gin State School, we have decided she would be better of in school. Her skills now include counting to 100 and back again, basic addition we do this by counting pegs, food, fingers etc and she picked it up really quick. She knows her letters and can recongise a few sounds. Jorja can write most letters of the alphabet and writes her own name confidently. Ok enough bragging about my child.

Her newest skill is riding her pushbike confidently and i told her when she can ride that confidently she could ride her ponies by herself now she is nagging me to saddle them up. I will still be keeping a close eye out on her. Kirk has been here with his new bike and they enjoy their newfound freedom of being able to ride to the first gate down the driveway where they are still under supervision but they dont know this.

Well some more updates again soon....PROMISE

New Foods

Last night we dined on Japanese Food at Tamara and Sean's place a very different taste for me , mum and dad. Dinner was nice but then we had Rosella's for dessert with coffee custard and lemon cake, i asked what the Rosella's were and got the reply that they were budgies heads and the red juice was blood, well that was it i wasn't eating anymore. Mum tried to explain to me that it was a fruit.

Tomorrow im excited to be going to Maryborough to go to the TESS Animal Sanctuary with the Widebay Little Learners, it should be fun. More on that tomorrow.

Nature Painting!

Today Jorja had her friend Kirk over to play for a few hours and we decided to do some painting using objects from the garden, we had leaves, rocks, sticks, flowers and a variety of other things. They enjoyed this project and were very excited to use different things other than a paint brush. This improves fine motor skills, sharing skills, social and conversation skills. The painting then turned into them painting each other, they loved it very much as you can see. They then had running races to see who would win, and of course both of them did.

Wildlife Pets

On the weekend we visited Dan's great Aunty Sandra and Uncle Arthur, they have some wildlife who are very quiet in thier backyard one was a possum called Cupcake and a Lizard whom they have called George. We tried to feed Cupcake bread with marmalade jam but she didnt want to show her head out from the roller door in the shed. George however sat in the sun warming up and Jorja had to make sure he was still there the whole time we were there, needless to say he was very quiet as well and let you walk right up to him but there was no touching. Jorja loved this experience with the wildlife and has broadened her understanding on wildlife. This week i aim to show her about Possums and the varied species of Lizards. Now would be a great time to go to Snakes Down Under.

Resposibilities!

Jorja was given a Guinea Pig from a lady who runs Old McDonalds Farm, thus bringing with it responsibilty. So far the novelty is still there and poor old Spike get lots of lovin and he gets what he need when he needs it. The requirements of Spike at the moment is a hair brush to apparently brush his hair. Like i said Poor old Spike....cheap and easy to care for....
